Since 1876, McArthur's has dedicated itself to producing a premium selection of fine foods requested by our customers -- a true commitment to your good taste.  Back when the New York Central train ran daily to our smokehouse door, when horses powered our treadmill meat grinder and when spices and seasonings were carefully blended behind locked doors, Ward D. McArthur gave this advise to his successors . . ."Never grow so large that you lose personal concern for each and every patron . . . and never so large that you lose your own personal involvement with your products and with the quality for which we have striven."

The train is gone now and the horses were put out to pasture long ago, but Ward D. McArthur's philosophy is still very much alive.  We still carefully blend our spices behind locked doors.  We still use his methods for curing and smoking.  And, we've steadfastly refused to compromise with shortcuts.  Our traditional methods of curing and smoking may not be the fastest or the most efficient, but when you taste our savory selection of meats, fowl, and fish, we think you'll agree that it's the very best!

Originally founded by Seymour Kane during the depths of the Great Depression, Seyco started its life as a fine wine and distilled spirit business, catering vintage products principally to the cellars of the carriage trade.  Seymour and his son then decided to enter the gourmet food business, and Seyco Fine Foods was born.  The company later moved to Van Nuys, California and subsequently to Ventura, California.  Seyco's reputation was built on the excellent quality and variety of its gourmet products.  We strive to continue this tradition!
